Oakland Respite Care
Much as you may want to provide all the care, day-in day-out caregiving of a seriously ill individual can be exhausting. It can also affect your own physical and mental well being. Taking a few days off now and then is important. It allows you to recharge your batteries, giving you renewed energy to continue on, even in the face of sad or overwhelming circumstances.
Arch National Respite Network
The National Respite Locator Service is a division of the Chapel Hill Training-Outreach Project. It allows you to search by state, age of care receiver and any pertinent conditions (e.g., Alzheimer’s, Stroke, AIDS/HIV…). This is not an exhaustive list, but it can get you started on resources.
